Conlog Group presents military communications-enabling solutions at DSEI 2023

8 September, 2023, Oulu, Finland: Conlog Group is attending DSEI 2023 at stand H7-230 as part of the Finnish Pavilion, where it will present its Tactical Communications Shelters and Deployable Hydraulic Mast Systems to support military communications in challenging and denied environments during forward/dispersed operations.

Conlog’s mission is to provide high-quality infrastructure to keep military forces connected during remote operations in environments where traditional communications may be degraded due to enemy tactics, natural disasters, or severe climatic conditions – particularly extreme cold. The company’s technologies are designed to be resilient against cold to protect people, electronics and mechanically-operated components, keeping them functioning even in Arctic conditions.

The company’s containerised, rapidly deployable communications station has been ordered by the Finnish Defence Force and the Swedish FMV. In June 2023, Conlog’s containerised communication system was announced as part of Saab’s new r-TWR Deployable: a modular, secure and quick-to-deploy digital tower, for flexible air traffic control missions. With high availability, mission-to-mission modularity and flexibility, the r-TWR Deployable is mission ready within an hour and can be operated remotely from a secure location at a base or connected to a centralised facility hundreds of miles away, keeping military personnel safe. The system includes all equipment required for air traffic management at an established or temporary landing strip and can be rapidly transported by road or rail on one or two standardised trailers, or in a cargo aircraft of C-130 Hercules size.

The r-TWR includes Conlog’s expandable shelter and newest hydraulic mast system; a quick-deploy free-standing mast system that can lift radars or antennas hydraulically to a height of 24 meters or more. The newest masts can reach a height of 35 meters without guy wires.

The r-TWR system was displayed during Finnish Air Force Academy Exercise Kesäbaana 23 in August, and during Tech Runway (TechRWY) in Pyhtää in late August.

Juha Moisio, CEO, Conlog Group, said: “Recent orders have demonstrated the critical role that Conlog technologies can play in keeping military forces connected in austere operational environments, as does our teaming with Saab on the r-TWR Deployable system. With our vast experience in extreme cold and the heat of the deserts, we can provide solutions that enable our customers and their partners to succeed no matter how demanding their mission environment.”
